Dead Stop – Live For Nothing (LP Red Vinyl)
Hardcore is so fast-paced, it's unbelievable. Last album raved, now the second one's out, and the band's already breaking up. How long were you guys even around? Three years? I can only repeat myself: the really good bands, the ones that always made hardcore interesting, break up, while the dull crap keeps going, hoping to become the next big thing someday. Sad.
DEAD STOP was one of the bands that actually managed to interest punks and hipsters alike. Fast-paced, powerful, old-school hardcore with a crazy singer sporting a charming mustache. People went wild when the band played live... when they actually played and didn't have to cancel, like so often happened.
This band brought a breath of fresh air to the hardcore scene and, along with JUSTICE, showed that Belgium isn't just the H8000 area. It may be that it is and was a trend, and soon another style of hardcore will be celebrated (perhaps Krishnacore will make a comeback), however, the revival was justified and above all showed all the idiots the roots of their music: PUNK! Rest in Peace, you fry heads
