Dead Man Ray ‎– Cago CD

Even though the Belgians' background is rather artistic (Rudy Trouvé, ex-dEUS), they produce easily digestible pop songs that span the boundaries between rock, jazz, and electronic music, without losing sight of classic songwriting. Of course, DEAD MAN RAY possesses precisely the edginess and playfulness that made dEUS such a great band—apparently, only Belgian bands sound like that. A fundamentally atmospheric affair, where it's ultimately difficult to identify any "hits."

Sure, dEUS is the better band, but that can't really be a reason to like this record less or not at all. Incidentally, Mr. Albini was at the controls, which seems to fulfill my duty to inform.
