Inspiral Carpets ‎– Devil Hopping CD

There is no question that this was the band’s weakest album and therefore unsurprising that they would subsequently be dropped by their record label. Constituting a poor rehash of a mix of styles present in their earlier releases, this album neither offered anything new or anything much of equal quality to what had been recorded before. Saying that, Tom Hingley’s vocals are as good as ever, especially on the standout tracks ‘Just Wednesday’ and the sublime ‘The Way the Light Falls’. The album is probably best remembered for guilty pleasure that is the lead single ‘Saturn 5’.
