Jai Diablo's goofy mishmash of lounge, surf punk, electronica, and reggae (with a bit of everything else thrown in for good measure) is just lunatic enough to work. The disc is filled with solid grooves layered with plenty of gutbucket organ and cheesy effects. Occasionally Diablo tosses in a silly lyric (such as the goofy and dangerous swinger "Girl Must Die"). In the end, what you get is a sublimely ridiculous pastiche that thankfully never takes itself seriously.
