Autopilots does not sound like a standard Dutch demo or low-budget indie record. Instead, it feels deeply indebted to the mid-to-late 90s American college rock and Midwestern emo scenes. The twin-guitar attack of Boas and Arnold Hubbers balances crunch with crystalline melodies, sitting comfortably between the driving energy of The Get Up Kids, the hook-heavy sensibilities of Fountains of Wayne, and the expansive, psychedelic textures of Norway's Motorpsycho.

Across its 10-track architecture, Autopilots behaves exactly like its title implies: a smooth, soaring journey flying over turbulent emotional landscapes, occasionally dipping into heavy turbulence.
