The Sheer ‎– The Keyword Is Excitement (2 CD)

€2.50

This issue has an extra live CD, recorded at Pinkpop 2004.

The debut of the Haarlem band The Sheer is a very nice sounding Britpop album. That the gentlemen have listened carefully to their examples can be heard in the many polyphonic vocals, the guitar playing and the beautiful organ and hammond arrangements (listen to the ending of Stay Awake!). The Sheer can best be compared to Supergrass or the Dutch Supersub, and is certainly not inferior to these bands. Outliers are Strangelove and Something New, but actually The Keyword Is Excitement! no weak moments. Singer Bart van Liemt has a very pleasant voice that never gets boring, which keeps you curious about every new song. In 2003, the year prior to this album, the band performed at Lowlands and Noorderslag and did support acts for Skik, Krezip and even The Rasmus. This debut album is rock solid.
