Far from being a chaotic live mess, it offers a structured overview of their sonic evolution. The band creates a kind of "Californian trance-rock" that would, years later, serve as a blueprint for post-rock giants like Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Neurosis.

Live Trek 1985–1986 on vinyl is highly recommended for collectors of 1980s underground post-punk, industrial, and early post-rock. Although the sound quality might deter the average listener, the musical intensity and the tribal, rhythmic atmosphere of this double LP are unparalleled.
