Le Grand Rouge ‎– Traverser Du Pays (LP)

Le Grand Rouge with singer, accordion and fiddle player Olivier Durif is one of the original bands from the French folk revival during the seventies. Traverser du Pays is their only LP. It’s surprisingly awesome. Ni Soleil Ni Lune and La Fille du Geolier are two fine examples of a traditional French ballad. Les réveillez is a an absolute banger with 6 minutes of crazy hurdy-gurdy riffs, beautiful violin melodies and canon singing.
