This is a great compilation of a band that bridged a gap in American music culture that few are aware of, but of which many enjoy the fruits. The Flesheaters blended 50's classic American rock 'n' roll, punk edginess and sometimes gothic vocal stylings to create this unique sound. Some argue that it was an influence to rockabilly. I agree. With members such as Dave Alvin (The Blasters) on this album, the musicianship is spotless. It's also a glimpse into the early L.A. punk scene, and how the parameters were yet undefined. A reflection of a tumultuous time through some great music.
