The Bishops – All Lost Time (LP Signed + Drawing)
Lyrically, the record lives up to its title. While their previous work focused on youthful energy and typical rock-and-roll tropes, All Lost Time is a introspective look at the passage of time, missed opportunities, and navigating adulthood as a working musician. The twin vocal attack of twin brothers Mike and Alex Bishop is utilized differently here; rather than shouting in unison, they rely on tight, overlapping harmonies that evoke a sense of isolation and internal dialogue.
Unlike their early work which favored a raw, in-your-face sound, "Polygonn" embraces empty spaces. The production relies on heavy stereo separation, letting the instruments ring into a dark, roomy reverb that gives the song a late-night, alternative pop edge.
All Lost Time explodes into a messy garage-rock chorus, the track climbs into a layered, melodic crescendo. The subtle use of keys adds a cinematic weight to the finish, making it feel like a triumphant, albeit dark, anthem
