The Franklin Electric – "This Is How I Let You Down" CD

The Franklin Electric is the project of lead singer, writer and producer Jon Matte, who remarkably wrote and produced the band's debut album entirely in his bedroom. The band, with Jon also on keys and trumpet, is completed by Martin Desrosby (bass), Liam Killen (drums) and Alexis Messier (guitars). Debut single Strongest Man Alive is a poignant and honest track led by stunning vocals and an auspicious melody with both hopeful and regretful lyrics. The video is a esmerising animated film, which uniquely showcases the songs lyrics perfectly. Through Jon Matte, the music of The Franklin Electric is driven by the loss of a close friend back in 2011 and the band's alternative folk-pop sound and debut album This Is How I Let You Down is one that creates an emotional impact. The album spans between heartfelt moments with tracks such as Alone and title track This Is How I Let You Down, to the more buoyant with songs such as Old Piano and Unsatisfied, yet retains vulnerability throughout that strongly connects with the listener.
