Gem ‎– Escapades (LP)

On Escapades, Gem has opted for more melody and less retro guitar sound. Although that is still present on that 'difficult second'. 'Move On' is a good example of that: in addition to the familiar guitar violence, there is also a cheerful organ and a repetitive chorus, so that you can sing along to 'Move On' halfway through. 'Fight On' is characterized by a sweet strumming and pumping drums, while the uptempo single 'Go!' features optimistic-sounding guitar playing. Gem is therefore undergoing a change of course in its sound, although it is still very recognizable.

The sound is a bit warmer on Escapades and the songs are often more layered in structure. The band has therefore made considerable progress in that regard. Escapades means a new chapter for Gem.
